Receptionist/Optometric Assistant

We are looking for the right person to join our clinic. We focus on providing excellent service to our patients. The successful candidate must be independent, a fast learner with a CAN DO attitude. Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential. Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right individual who has an interest in health services and the optical industry.

This is a Part-time position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preliminary testing of patients for eye exams
Reception-related tasks
Excellent telephone conversation skills
Preparing patient charts
Scheduling patients on the computer
Calling patients to confirm their appointments
Office work including filing, misc paperwork, email & data processing
Contact lens related tasks
Billing MSI, third-parties and patients
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

A good work ethic
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and work in a team environment is required
Previous customer service or administration experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel or similar software
Asset: Certification as an optometric assistant, ophthalmic assistant, or previous experience in an optometric/optical/medical/dental/chiropractic office
